From 2010 to 2020, Giordano served as the Chairman of the Board for Ascension Michigan, a $3.5 billion organization with 14 hospitals and over 150 medical facilities. Responsibilities include oversight of strategic initiatives, the Finance Committee and membership on the Governance Committee. He started with the Ascension system as a Director for a subset of four hospitals known as St John/Providence Health System, becoming the Chair of that Board and was selected to participate in the consolidation of four regional boards to one state wide fiduciary board known as Ascension Michigan. This included working collaboratively with the multiple stake holder groups: regional board members, administrators, physicians, and insurance interests. From 2006 until today, Giordano is the Director of Michigan Public Health Institute -MPHI. This unique organization is owned by the State of Michigan, The University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and Wayne State University. MPHI is in the business of providing complex data analysis on a variety of issues that affect public health and policy. His current responsibilities include at-large director and chair of the Audit Committee. This included developing a business and investment strategy leading to double digit growth. He is also President and Chief Consultant of Universal Consulting & Training Services LLC, a firm he started as a business vehicle to participate in generative board governance for expanding businesses. As a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board for the University of Michigan, Dearborn, he provided oversight for industry participation in academic curriculum to ensure relevance for graduates. He was awarded the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year 2007 and is also an Ernst & Young – Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist in 2009 & 2007. Giordano holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Detroit/Mercy and a Bachelors of Science – Finance & Managerial Economics from the University of Michigan.
